The Labor Protection Exhibition recognizes that intelligent protective equipment is becoming a new trend in industry development. At the 2025 Barcelona MWC25 exhibition, ZTE unveiled its next-generation 5G smart safety helmet, leveraging digital technology to empower safety management in high-risk industries. This innovation supports sectors such as energy and power, construction, mining exploration, and chemical manufacturing, enabling a transformation in production safety from passive protection to proactive intelligent safeguarding.

The H5000 model is the world's first smart safety helmet to support tri-mode switching among 5G, RedCap, and WAPI, allowing flexible communication mode transitions based on different work environments to suit all industry application scenarios. It is equipped with a 4K wide-angle camera and an AI noise-canceling microphone, supporting video livestreaming, remote collaboration, and multi-party voice calls—addressing the long-standing limitation of traditional safety helmets' single-function design. The device features a detachable battery pack with robust endurance, capable of meeting 24-hour uninterrupted operation demands.
Also unveiled at the same event was the industry's first AI voice-enabled 5G smart miner's lamp, the H5000M, specifically developed for complex underground mining conditions. The product meets the IP67 tri-protection standard, delivering excellent water resistance, dust protection, and impact resistance to adapt to humid, high-dust, and high-vibration underground environments. Its built-in sensors can monitor harmful gas concentrations in real time; when values exceed safe thresholds, they immediately trigger audio-visual alarms and push evacuation information via voice broadcast. Leveraging UWB (Ultra-Wideband) positioning technology, the device enables centimeter-level personnel positioning and trajectory tracking, significantly improving rescue efficiency following emergency incidents.
The product series is complemented by multiple functional accessories to further enhance the protection system. Built-in modules can monitor vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, and body temperature, using AI to assess fatigue and health risks with graded early warnings. Bone-conduction earphones ensure clear communication while not isolating external sounds. A four-in-one gas detection module can accurately detect four common types of underground gases with detection precision at the ppm level.
Relying on IoT and edge computing technologies, the devices feature multiple intelligent early warning functions: prolonged personnel immobility triggers a silent alarm; a long-press of the button initiates one-touch SOS rescue; in the event of dangers such as high-altitude falls or abnormal electric fields, the system issues audio-visual warnings within 0.5 seconds. The system can also automatically detect unauthorized helmet removal, standardizing on-site operations.
ZTE has built a comprehensive management platform based on its Digital Nebula architecture, using AI to identify hazard sources and non-compliant operations. Combined with digital twin and GIS mapping technologies, it creates a visual command interface integrating monitoring, analysis, early warning, and emergency response functions. The entire system enables millisecond-level information synchronization among the field site, command center, and rear experts, improving emergency decision-making efficiency by over 60%.
Currently, this smart safety helmet has been deployed at enterprises such as China Resources Cement and Qinghai Salt Lake, accumulating over 120,000 early warnings for various high-risk events.
